Concours 101 Class

Concours d’Elegance” ” (pronounced, “Con-Kor”), a French phrase for “a competition of elegance”, dates back to 17th-century French aristocracy who paraded horse-drawn carriages in the parks of Paris during summer weekends and holidays. Fast forward to 21st-century Texan aristocracy (us!), and you are soon to enjoy a very friendly HCR Concours d’Elegance event!
Of course, the basics must come first, and this is your opportunity to meet TOM ROY who has volunteered as HCR’s Concours Event Coordinator. Tom brings a wealth of Concours knowledge and experience that he is eager to share with us in this CONCOURS 101 CLASS. Don’t miss the chance to learn more about Concours events and their judging as Tom guides us through the general Concours event requirements and explains what is involved in being a Concours event judge.
Our sponsor, Porsche South Austin, will provide a vehicle for an interactive session! As Tom shows us the areas to be judged (Exterior, Interior and Storage), he will also tell us how to prepare our own Porsche beauty for participation in a Concours event and the criteria for judging. Whether you are a participant, judge, or just a spectator at an upcoming HCR Concours d’Elegance event, this interactive CONCOURS 101 CLASS will equip you with the knowledge to appreciate every aspect of the “competition of elegance.
