It’s almost bluebonnet season in central Texas & that means it’s time for our always popular annual bluebonnet tour! This year’s route will take place on March 28th & take us on a winding path from Leander through the Texas hill country & the lovely & famous “Willow City Loop” to the Perissos Vineyard & Winery just south of Inks Lake where we’ll park & have lunch.

The route through the Willow City Loop is indeed gorgeous; however, there are 13 cattle guards to cross. Most of them are relatively smooth, but you may want to leave your GT car at home for this one.

We will meet in the Randall’s parking lot (3441 N Lakeline Blvd, Leander, TX 78641) by 8:00 am for check-in. Restrooms will be available inside the Randall’s. There is a Starbucks in the lot & a Monster Donut shop across the street for last minute drinks & snacks. We’ll have a short driver’s meeting at 8:30 am, with the first run group leaving by 8:45 am. The drive is 147 miles long & will take about 3 1/2 hours, plus a 15 minute rest stop at the Bigs Gas Station on Hwy 281 where restrooms & snacks will be available.

The Perissos Winery has a limited kitchen, so the best way to enjoy lunch there is to bring your own picnic lunch or pre-register & pay for a charcuterie board via ClubReg.
