Wine Social Down South

Given the success of our wine social in January, we are going to do it again! HCR will host another moderately priced wine social on Tuesday, October 17, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This
event is being co-hosted by Kent and Margaret Foster and Chris and Julie Dirkes, and will be held at the Dirkes’ residence in the Highpointe Subdivision on Sawyer Ranch Road off of US 290
in southwest Austin.
Whereas January’s event featured Texas wines, this event will be a “world tour”. We plan to have a wine from each of Italy, Spain, France and the Napa Valley, plus a sparkling wine to start.
Our host has engaged a certified sommelier friend to briefly discuss each wine. As before, there will be two red wines and two white wines. In addition, each guest will receive a glass of a
sparkling white wine upon arrival. During the evening, each guest will receive a two ounce pour of each of the four different wines. Light appetizers and snacks will be provided to compliment the tastings. After the initial pours of the four wines, guests can enjoy additional pours of one or more of the wines if they want to enjoy a bit more of any of the five wines initially tasted.

The cost is $40.00 per person, which includes all wine and food and is payable at registration. Registration opens Sunday, September 24, at noon at www.clubregistration.net. Due to space
and parking limitations at the Dirkes’ residence, attendance will be limited to 30 guests. If the event limit is reached prior to the close of registration, any subsequent registrants will be
placed on a waitlist, which will be used to fill any cancellations. Registration will close Saturday, October 14, at 5:00 PM.

Refund policy: Refunds will be available for cancellations received prior to the close of registration. Refunds for cancellations after that date will be made only if the spot can be filled from the waitlist.
