John Konakci organized a fantastic Christmas Party for 2018.  Members were treated to a scrumptious buffet that included dynamite shrimp, stuffed risotto balls, stuffed and smoked jalapenos, beef tenderloin medallions, chicken parmesan, twice baked potatoes, grilled asparagus, mac and cheese and pineapple upside down cake.  Drinks were flowing at the bar while members, friends and family caught up on holiday events.   Following is John Konakci’s post party summary:
I am still talking to my wife about what a wonderful time we had at the Christmas Party Saturday evening. Thank you for coming and making it a special event.
I’d like to recognize the people who volunteered to make our evening so special: Many thanks to Bruce Harris for emceeing the event all night. Many thanks to Jonathan and Kathy Haggar for warmly greeting every guest and welcoming them to the party. Many thanks to Gordie and Barbara Robbins for handling the sale of all the raffle tickets and collecting all the monies. Many thanks to Steve Guzman for raffling the donated prizes. Many thanks to Tuffy and Sheri von Briesen for all their help setting up the venue for the party and their help throughout the night. And it must be mentioned that without Bruce, we would not have had access to The Hills Country Club for our party.
We are blessed with so many generous club members. Thanks to you, $1,635 was raised through the sale of raffle tickets, silent auctions, and calendar sales for Rika’s favorite charity. We owe many thanks to all the people who donated special gifts including Holly Noel, Jonathan Haggar, Tom Emr, Lynn Friedman, and Porsche Austin.
Thanks to all of you who brought gifts for children. More than 60 toys were donated, and an officer from the Lakeway Police Dept. came by during our party to take all of the toys to Green Santa. You can see a picture of all of the toys on the piano in the photo gallery (more below).
