Bob has restarted Lunch Bunch, and he has reserved a spot at Jack Allen’s Kitchen in Round Rock, located at 2500 Hoppe Trail, Round Rock, TX 78681. That’s just off IH-35

Please note that the restaurant typically fills up for lunch, so for this event, Bob asks that you plan to arrive by 11:00am, as servers will start taking orders at 11:15am. (Hint: that’s when you need to be in your seat).

Mar 19: “Octoberfest in March” Tour to Walburg

Our next Tour comes up on Saturday, March 19. Join your fellow HCR members as we head east from Georgetown on some twisty roads, with a tour put together by our Tourmaster of the North, Ken Kalin. We will loop back to have lunch at the outstanding Walburg German Restaurant.

Mar 24: South Happy Hour at Vista Brewing

5:30pm – 7:30pm

13551 FM150 W, Driftwood, TX 78619

Great beer and wine selection along with good food. If the weather is nice, the outdoor seating is amazing with large heritage trees to sit under. Inside, there is a semi-private room and a large beer hall. There is a 300m-long dirt road leading into the brewery. It is pretty smooth and easily can be handled by any Porsche.

Mar 26: GT International Spring Car Show

Time: 10:00am – 1:30pm

Details forthcoming.

April 2: Texas Ramps Charitable Event

8:00am – noon-ish

Come join your fellow HCR members on April 2 as we support our new charity for 2022: The Texas Ramp Project. The charity has built more than 100 miles of wheelchair ramps for those in need in the Austin area, and we will help them continue this worthy endeavor.

The build project will be at a location in Bastrop county, and the project is expected to take 4 – 6 hours, beginning at 8am. Coffee and donuts will be on hand to help kick things off. Lunch will be provided as well.

Ramp sections are built in advance offsite by the charity. We come in on the day and assemble the sections into a complete ramp. In addition to tying the sections together, we’ll add wheelchair guides, uprights for handrails and the handrails. A TR build captain will be with us full time to make sure all goes well.

Registrants will be asked in ClubReg if they can bring a cordless drill/screwdriver. (All the ramp connections are made with wood screws.) Additional tools will be available onsite.

A good crew size for a typical ramp is about 15 so we’re looking for at least 15 volunteers to join us on April 2. No experience required!! Come join us!!

Registration can be accessed through the HCR Calendar.

April 6: Ladies Lunch at Waterloo Ice House

April 9: Tech Session at Caliber Collision on Metric

9:00am – noon

It’s time to go visit Caliber Collision on Metric, and see why they are one of only two body shops in Austin certified by Porsche to work on our P-Cars. This is the location that Porsche Austin sends cars to for body repairs. We held a tech session there a couple of years ago and it was a major hit! (pun intended).

We will have the usual breakfast tacos and coffee for participants. Additional details and registration link is on the HCR Calendar.

April 23: Cars. Coffee & Croissants at Mozart’s Coffee Roasters

Mar 2: Ladies Lunch at The League Kitchen

March Ladies Lunch was held at The League Kitchen and Tavern at Avery Ranch. In addition to the regulars, four (4) ladies attended for the first time! I heard that the ladies once again had so much fun that they extended their stay till well into mid-afternoon. Michelle gives a big shout out to Barbara Robbins for all of her help.

Mar 5: Ladies Tech Session- Dealing with the Dealer

Crystal and Amber pulled off a stellar lunch and tech session on Saturday. They had 9 attendees, and the group was joined by a couple of reps from Porsche Austin South. Excellent food and the feedback was very positive. Everyone said they learned at least one thing, so it’s a successful tech session!

Mar 5: Porsche Austin Espresso’s and Exotics Car Show

Wow, what a great event yesterday! I lost count of how many Porsches showed up, along with other marques from the Hi-Tech brand. They even let a vintage Jaguar crash the party…way cool car. Porsche Austin provided a free coffee barista plus the Torchy’s Taco food truck for anyone needing a taco fix.

Our objective continues to be to keep our membership up to date on what is going on in HCR, as well as PCA nationally. Please remember, our goal is to deliver events where members can choose their level of participation. We will continue to stress safe and fun events!
