NEW and UPDATE events are highlighted below.
NEW: Adrian Silva Update
Those of you who actually read my weekly email may remember a few months ago I introduced you all to Adrian and “Chip” Silva. Adrian entered our “Best Story of 2020” contest, and while he didn’t win, his story was compelling. Adrian and his wife, Chip, moved to the HCR region and Georgetown last year from California, to be closer to their son, Cody, and his family and their grandchild. I was personally struck by the family-focus of the story. Adrian convinced his son, Cody, to buy his first Porsche last year and join HCR.
Adrian reached out to me later in the Spring, needing help selling his Miami Blue 911, due to his health prognosis. I enlisted the aid of GT International and Caliber Collision, to help facilitate the sale of the car.
The good news is that, through our efforts and communication, the car sold quickly to a local individual. The not-so-good news is that Chip called me this past week to tell me that Adrian passed away on June 19th.
I had a great conversation with Chip. I committed to her that our club would respond if she needed anything from HCR, and she was grateful for the support that she and Adrian received from us in their short time as HCR members.
On behalf of HCR, we wish the Silva family peace and comfort in their lives, and the hope that we will all get a chance to meet Chip and her son, Cody, and his family, at a future event.
July Tech Session with Maverick Region at Werks 11: All About Paint
Come join us at Werks11 (302 W. Adams in Temple, Texas) THIS SATURDAY, July 31. The event starts at 9:00AM and we look to be wrapped up by noon. Julian Avent has a terrific auto paint expert on his team, and he will be providing tons of useful information on all things “paint”. Breakfast and coffee are included.
Please note this is a joint event with Maverick Region. Currently, Maverick is bringing more members to the tech session than HCR. REALLY? Since when do we let another region out-perform us? Come on folks, sign up and show up and support HCR and our great supporter, Werks 11!

Lunch Bunch is set for the second Thursday of the month. The next date is August 12th at 11:30am, and the location is the ever-popular Quality Seafood!
For those of you who may be new to Austin, Quality Seafood is a foodie institution, with terrific seafood and great commaraderie with fellow members. If seafood isn’t your thing, don’t fret….they have chicken dishes, too.
Bob will have our usual private room, and due to staffing shortage that most businesses are facing these days, you will order at the counter on your way in (just like the regular customers). No pre-registration or RSVP required.
Event details are at the HCR Calendar.
Bob is always glad to hear that you are planning on coming or if you will be bringing a large group. Bob can be reached at: LunchBunch@hcrpca.org.

Looking Back
We had a fantastic driving tour yesterday, out to Llano for BBQ and then on to Fredericksburg for outstanding ice cream. Honestly, I think that’s now my favorite ice cream destination . . . I was overwhelmed with all the choices!
Many thanks to our Tourmasters for the event, Chris McChesney and our newest sponsor and advertiser, Driving Adventures USA (John Konacki). I drove roads I hadn’t been on previously, and they were an absolute blast in my GT3!
(Thanks guys.)
Our objective continues to be to keep our membership up to date on what is going on in HCR, as well as PCA nationally. Please remember, our goal is to deliver events that allow you to participate safely, and to ensure you have fun!
