Sept 17: Tech Session at Porsche South Austin

We have worked closely with PSA to develop an agenda that will interest every facet of Porsche owners and drivers. In particular, this includes all those ladies who own and/or drive a Porsche. Our format would be the same as our last successful tech session at the PA facility in northwest Austin. We will divide everyone into three groups and offer three topics simultaneously, each lasting about 20 – 25 minutes each. At the completion of each topic, the groups would rotate to the next topic.

Topics include:

  • Navigating the Porsche Communications Management System (PCMS).
  • Why does a Porsche feel like a Porsche?
  • Porsche technician training and certification.

More details and registration can be found on our HCR Calendar.

Sept 25: Escape to the Estate Tour to Flat Creek Winery

Please note the date change for this event. It’s on a Sunday. High-level details are a driving tour that ends at Flat Creek Winery outside Marble Falls. Once there, we will have a 5-flight wine tasting under the huge covered pavilion. Brunch is optional, as well as tours of the winery estate. “Live” band kicks off at 2:00pm under the pavilion. We will have a Porsche corral for parking, too.

More details forthcoming!

October 2: Porsche vs Ferrari at Moorespeed

Our second annual Moorespeed Porsche vs Ferrari Concours is Sunday October 2, 2022, at Moorespeed, 7910 Burleson Road, Austin (near Austin Bergstrom International Airport).  The Hill Country Region of PCA and the Ferrari Club of Austin are jointly coordinating this event.

This year we'll have two overall categories of cars.  Judged and non-judged.  This is the registration section for Porsche Judged and Display cars only.  If you are registering a Ferrari, please go the Ferrari Club website to register.

We are capping the judged category at 50 total cars.  Please note this is 50 total cars not 50 Porsches and 50 Ferraris.  We will assign judged cars to a specific class depending upon year built and there will be head-to-head competition between the two marques.  The number of classes will be determined based on registration.  There is a $50.00 fee payable at registration for the judged category.

There are no restrictions on Display Cars.  We will assign parking as you arrive.  There is a $25.00 fee payable at registration for the display category.

Each Judged and Display Car will receive a commemorative “swag bag” and special Porsche vs Ferrari T Shirts.

For those of you who don’t want to participate in the Judged or Display category, there will be plenty of parking at the site. There is no fee to just park.

Registration is now open. Details on the HCR Calendar.

October 15, 2022: SAVE THE DATE for our next Autocross

Aug 3: Ladies Lunch at Salt Traders

July Ladies Lunch was held in Round Rock at Salt Traders Coastal. They enjoyed the company of first time attendee, Margo. There was lots of laughter and delicious food. Michelle thanks our HCRPCA ladies for providing such a warm welcome to Margo.

Aug 7: Informal GTG (Get ToGether) at Rudy’s BBQ

Our monthly GTG this morning was a HUGE presence by our air-cooled members…so awesome! i lost count of all the Pcars in the parking lot. many thanks to Bill Gwinn for bringing his new acquisition: Tom Erdmann’s Carrera 4S. (yes, that terracotta interior just pops). Tons of fun this morning.

Our objective continues to be to keep our members up to date on all our planned events in HCR, Zone 5 and PCA nationally, and those of our sponsors and advertisers. Please remember: our goal is to deliver events where members can choose their level of participation, and we will continue to stress safe and fun events!
