NEW and UPDATE events are highlighted below.
I hope everyone had a terrific Father’s Day yesterday! (Yes, I took the day off). New events continue to hit the calendar, and it’s looking all good.
Let’s roll!
Member Survey Results
Y’all know we did a short 5-minute survey recently with just a few questions. We had about 100 members respond, and we appreciate the participation. The results essentially told the Board to keep doing what we are doing to reopen the club with all our usual social events, including breakfasts, lunches, and Happy Hours. And we had several members raise their hand to be new volunteers…we are already in the process of talking to those members.
So, we’re “putting our foot on the floor” and sprinting forward!
Survey results are posted here: HCR 5 Minute Member Survey 2021
German Motor Gathering in Boerne
Next event on our HCR calendar is the GMG in Boerne. The date is Saturday, June 26 and we depart for Boerne promptly at 8am. Starting location will be emailed to all confirmed registrants a day or two before the event date. (Hint: it will be a location in the Oak Hill area)
Everyone who registered for the original Driving Tour and Car Corral will remain as registered, but you will be moved to a Pending status. This is necessary since the original Event Liability Waiver that was signed is no longer valid and must be re-signed. As a result, you must go back in to ClubReg and eSign the Event Liability Waiver. Some of you may not have eSigned the Communicable Disease Waiver (or the one you eSigned may have expired), so that waiver might also need to be signed. Please note that anyone who does not resubmit a new event liability waiver by noon on Sunday, June 20 will not be confirmed for the tour, will be cancelled from the event and no refunds issued.
We have space for up to 60 cars, and WE STILL HAVE A FEW OPENINGS, so hurry and register here: ClubReg.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to: tourmaster@hcrpca.org, or Tom@hcrpca.org.

Lunch Bunch
Lunch Bunch is set for the second Thursday of the month. The July Lunch Bunch will be held on Thursday, July 8 and location is TBA.
Attendees will be expected to sign PCA Communicable Disease waivers at the event. Bob is always glad to hear that you are planning on coming or if you will be bringing a large group. Bob can be reached at: LunchBunch@hcrpca.org.
July Driving Tour: BBQ and Ice Cream!
Our next tour will be on July 24, presented by Driving Adventures USA. Breakfast will be provided by Torqqe Performance, another HCR sponsor and advertiser. I know, I know…it may be hot. So what? Our tour will feature twisty and scenic roads, BBQ lunch in one town, ice cream in another town (to keep you cool), and plenty of back road driving to satisfy your P-car.
We will start off at a club sponsor location (all will be revealed in due time), who will provide breakfast tacos and coffee (restrooms too).
Check out our sponsor’s website: Driving Adventures USA
Registration is now open: BBQ & Ice Cream Tour
NEW: July Tech Session with Maverick Region at Werks 11: All About Paint
Have you ever wondered what goes into painting or repainting your Porsche? What kind of skill is required to spray your P-Car and have it show like a Concours car? How do you match paint?
Come join us at Werks11 on Saturday July 31 from 900 AM – 200 PM when Julian’s top notch painter answers all these questions and more. He’ll discuss everything you need to know about painting your baby so it shines like a diamond.
Werks11 is located at 302 W. Adams in Temple, Texas. We’ll start at 9:00 AM and end at 2:00 PM. As usual have some great coffee and donuts for you. Maybe a breakfast taco or two.
This will be a great session that will also include participants from the Maverick Region from the Dallas area. We’ve done joint sessions with Maverick and the turned out really well.
Registration is now open here: All About Paint Tech Session
Remember: In order to be confirmed for this or any other event, you need to complete BOTH the Communicable Disease Waiver (CDW) AND the Event Liability Waiver (ELW). If you already signed the CDW, you only need to sign the ELW. And PLEASE remember to verify your signature.

Looking Back
Porsche Austin Open House
We held our 3rd Open House at Porsche Austin this past week, and as usual, attendance was a sell out. I heard tons of positive feedback from our appreciative members, who all got the private grand tour of the new facility. At this point, I want to express my sincere gratitude to all the folks at Porsche Austin who made these events possible, including GM Aldo Abad, Operations Director Steve Schermerhorn, and General Sales Manager Christian Ames. Great job and the Texas hospitality was on full display!
Boxster 101 Maintenance Tech Session
Another outstanding Boxster 101 Tech session is in the books. Chris McChesney never disappoints, and after he held this session on Saturday morning at his home garage, I again received many compliments and thanks for the session. Attendance was limited to a lucky 10 people, and while I couldn’t attend personally, I heard through the grapevine that everyone wants another session on any topic. Well done Chris! (sorry I missed the face painting and the raffle for the pony).
Our objective continues to be to keep our membership up to date on what is going on in HCR, as well as PCA nationally. Please remember, our goal is to deliver events that allow you to participate safely, and to ensure you have fun!
If any questions or comments, please let me know.
