SPECIAL MESSAGES:
What
a weekend! Saturday was UT Ladies Volleyball winning their 4th national
championship (Louisville pushed them hard in the 3rd set), plus our Tour to
Johnson City for dinner and Christmas lights. Today was, of course, World Cup
final, and what an outstanding match! Whew, I need a week to recover!
Our
newest event is called "Wine Social". After a successful test run
this past Fall, Bob Hieronymus has set the date for the next event on January
17, at the home of Damon & Ella Holditch. Registration is now open. More
details and link to registration is here on our HCR Calendar.

Dec 17 Tour to Johnson City for Christmas Lights and Dinner
We
had a group of about 11 cars on the final tour of the year, Our
youngest new member, Ian Hildebrand (Austin High Senior and entrepreneur),
joined in and brought his new-to-him Boxster, fresh from a little maintenance
at Porsche South Austin. All in all, a very pleasant evening with delightful
dinner and socializing with friends, with strolls through all the lights in
downtown Johnson City. Thanks to Chris McChesney for putting
it all together!
Dec 15 Brewery Night at Cork & Barrel
We
had a very pleasant and festive evening on their outdoor back patio, under
comfy space heaters. We had great fun and got to meet Max’s son-in-law,
Kevin, who works as a chef at Perry’s in the Domain! Who knew? Yes, we learned
all about how their famous Friday pork chop is produced…fascinating! The
Belching Beaver Peanut Butter Stout was an offering we couldn’t pass up. Thanks
to Greg Lee for another nice event.
Dec 14 Sips ‘n Sticks – Holiday Version
Another
terrific event coordinated by our own Andrew Garcia! This was the holiday
edition, for rum tasting at Casa de Montecristo. We had a light turnout of 10
members, but between the excellent cigar pairings with our four rums for
the evening, this was probably our best Sips event of the year.
