May 5: Irish Sips ’n Sticks
Come join us for the Irish Sips & Sticks cigar and whiskey tasting event this time on Cinco de Mayo! (I know, you were expecting Tequila…that’s coming later this year). At our last event we decided on an Irish theme due to St. Patrick's Day in March so we will be tasting a selection of four Irish whiskeys paired as usual with a premium cigar from the Casa humidor. Since this event is on May 5th (Thursday) we get a twofer celebrating St. Patty's Day and Cinco de Mayo. So come join us May 5th from 6 to 8pm at the Casa de Montecristo Cigar Lounge in the Davenport Village Shopping Center, 3801 N. Capital of TX Hwy, Suite A100, in West Austin. The cost is $50pp payable at the door with either cash or card. All whiskey and cigar fans are invited and you are welcome to attend for the whiskey tasting only (no cigar) but the entrance fee is still $50pp. Snacks will be provided. The event is capped at 20 attendees and Ladies of course are invited!
Registration for this event is required on clubregistration.net. Payment is at the door the night of the event, as usual.
May 7: Spring Scavenger Hunt Rally
Partner with friends and family for a Hill Country Spring Scavenger Hunt Rally on Saturday, May 7th, from 8:15a.m. to 1:30p.m. This hunt comes to you courtesy of Charlie, Ava, and Ella Pitkin, who enjoyed our winter hunt so much that they were inspired to create this one.
A tech-savvy team member who can serve as a navigator is required. And cellular technology (with a camera) will be needed to decode the clues, solve the riddles, and report your team’s finds.
The hunt includes two options: one for our puzzle-crazy members, and another “Scavenger Hunt Lite” version for our members who are new to the area or just want a more relaxed way to enjoy the fun. You choose how to complete this un-timed event.
This event will be limited to only 22 vehicles. Available vehicle seating will limit the number of persons on a team.

April 6: Ladies Lunch at Waterloo Ice House
April Ladies Lunch was held on Wednesday, April 6th. Lunch was in a private room in the back, and included two first-time attendees: Kim Foster and Maryanne Billones. Michelle states they were provided a warm HCRPCA welcome, and all had a great time. All our ladies did the work of making them feel right at home.
April 9: Tech Session at Caliber Collision on Metric
Another excellent Tech Session was held on Saturday at Caliber Collision. Kudos to the Caliber team…breakfast tacos furnished by Taco Deli were a huge hit. Region Manager Kevin Rigdon kicked things off with a big welcome to everyone, and GM Ronan Shackelford provide a full-blown, detailed presentation on the entire estimating process they go through, including parts acquisition challenges. Tons of Q&A. Afterward, we were all treated to an outstanding presentation by our own Jonathan Haggar on how to take those amazing photos of your car, worthy of Horizons or Panorama publication. Lots of positive comments and everyone walked away better-educated on all these topics.
April 10: Bluebonnet Tour
Another great BB Tour is in the books! We had 62 cars and about 85 people in attendance Sunday morning. What great weather for a backroad drive out to Llano for lunch. Many thanks to Chris and Tuffy for putting this one together! We had tons of new members show up, too!
Our objective continues to be to keep our members up to date on all our planned events in HCR, Zone 5 and PCA nationally, and those of our sponsors and advertisers. Please remember: our goal is to deliver events where members can choose their level of participation, and we will continue to stress safe and fun events!
Thanks.
