June 24: HCR Leadership Recognition Lunch
The Executive Council is sponsoring a lunch this Friday to say “thank you” to the HCR Leadership team. These are the people who planned, organized and delivered events to our members in the past year. The leadership team being recognized through this luncheon include the Board members and Event Coordinators. Invitations were sent out last week to all involved, and the lunch will be held at Perry’s this Friday (yes, the reward is the world-famous Perry’s Friday Pork Chop).
It’s a small way to to express our collective gratitude for their leadership and service to HCR in a year that also delivered the PCA Region of The Year award to HCR.

This year marks our 45th Anniversary for HCR. So your Executive Council team decided we should celebrate, and we will do it in style at Steiner Ranch Steakhouse on Sunday, July 10. The restaurant is located at 5424 Steiner Ranch Blvd in Austin. This is the Sunday all-you-can-eat Brunch at Steiner, and if you’ve never experienced it, you are in for a big treat!
We have a dedicated room up on the 2nd floor, where you can soak in the excellent views of Lake Travis. The cost is $36.08pp, payable at the door, and includes coffee, tea or water beverages with free refills, tax and 20% gratuity. If you choose, any alcoholic drinks are extra and servers will run a tab for you upon request (their Bloody Mary is terrific!). For kids under 12, the cost is $16.84pp.
Due to capacity of the private room, we have to cap our attendance at 100 attendees. WE ONLY HAVE ABOUT 8 SEATS REMAINING OPEN. So be sure to register ASAP! We have a food and beverage minimum we have to hit, so please be sure to attend if you register.

October 2: Porsche vs Ferrari at Moorespeed
Our second annual Moorespeed Porsche vs Ferrari Concours is scheduled for Sunday October 2, 2022, at Moorespeed, 7910 Burleson Road, Austin (near Austin Bergstrom International Airport). The Hill Country Region of PCA and the Ferrari Club of Austin are jointly coordinating this event.
This is a fun concours where you have an opportunity to show off your Porsche against the best from the Ferrari Club of Austin. If you recall last year's event, we had about 50 judged Porsches and Ferraris and about 50 display cars. Overall attendance was about 250 people.
This year we’ll have two overall categories of cars. Judged and non-judged. Both categories are Porsche and Ferrari only. You can pick your category at registration.
Registration opens on Aug 1. Details on the HCR Calendar.
October 15, 2022: SAVE THE DATE for our next Autocross
Location: HEB Center, South Parking Lot this time. Registration will open two months prior to the event, i.e. on Aug 15. More details forthcoming on the HCR Calendar.

June 16: Brewery Night @ Brewtorium
I’m happy to report that June 16 was “CharlesDay”. We had no less than four members named “Charles” show up at the Brewery Night. Lots of other HCR members showed up, and Greg Lee (HCR Biermeister) had a huge grin on his face all night. Brewtorium has a slew of tasty beers!
June 18: Tour to Spoetzel Brewery plus Lunch
We had 22 cars for Saturday’s tour to the Brewery. Wow, they have really changed things since we were last there a couple of years ago. Bigger gift shop, new huge bar/taproom, and a token gets you a full pint of any of about 15 of their beers on tap. Plus a big covered open-air pavilion with tons of fans…breezy and very nice…tours were running and the beer was cold! Afterwards was the ever-popular Kloesel’s Steakhouse in Moulton, where we had the private room upstairs and super food. All great!
Our objective continues to be to keep our members up to date on all our planned events in HCR, Zone 5 and PCA nationally, and those of our sponsors and advertisers. Please remember: our goal is to deliver events where members can choose their level of participation, and we will continue to stress safe and fun events!
Thanks.
