This week’s enews is longer than most because of the number of events on our Region’s calendar for September and October. The best way to stay on top of all our events is to check the calendar on a regular basis. Please read all of the upcoming activities and select the one’s that fit your busy schedules!

9/14/2023 – Thursday – Lunch Bunch heads back down south. It’s time to do some BBQ again and this place fits the bill with their excellent meats and large selection of side dishes. Join us to enjoy some good ol’ Texas smoked meats and the always enlightening conversation with your fellow club members. Poke-E-Jo’s BBQ at Brodie Oaks, 4109 S Capital of Texas Highway, Austin.
9/17/2023 – Sunday – Get Together North – Join us 9:00 am – 11:00 am at Red Horn Brewery & Roastery, located at 1615 Scottsdale Drive, Building 1, Suite 110 in Leander. The entire back parking lot is set aside for HCR members, with picnic tables and our own access through the rear entrance.
9/20/2023 – Wednesday – Join us for another Texas Sips n Sticks cigar and whisky-tasting event on September 20th at Casa de Montecristo. This time we will be getting into the fall spirit by tasting ryes. So please come and join us on Wednesday, September 20th from 6 to 8 PM at the Casa de Montecristo Cigar Lounge in the Davenport Village Shopping Center in West Austin.
9/21/2023 – Thursday – Brewery Night held from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM, at Vacancy Brewing, vacancybrewing.com. 415 E St Elmo Road 1-D2, Austin, Texas, 78745, 5:30 – 7:30 PM. Year round and seasonal beers on tap. Parking and SXSE food truck on site. No registration required.
9/23/2023 – Saturday – HCR Hill Country Backroads to Castell (paved & unpaved)
Explore the backroads of Texas Hill Country with Hill Country’s first-ever Texas-Style Tour including unpaved roads. This scenic family-friendly tour will cover a mix of paved, gravel and dirt roads ending with lunch at Castell General Store. This tour has been planned with Cayenne and Macan owners in mind, however HCR members with SUVs, Jeeps or Pickups of any make are welcome. This event is open for registration on Club Registration.

Happy Hour North is back!! So come on out and join your fellow HCR members for a drink and appetizers: Cork & Barrel Craft Kitchen, 4000 E Palm Valley, Round Rock, TX. 5:30 until 7:30 PM.

Happy Hour South returns to Waterloo Icehouse Escarpment Blvd., Austin beginning at 5:30 until 7:30 PM. Indoor seating and lots of parking. Last time we were here, it was one of our biggest turnouts. Please reply to the invite so that we can have an approximate headcount.

9/30/2023 – 10/1/2023 – Friday/Saturday – Austin Schnell Fest HPDE event at Circuit of the Americas. This PCA Driver Education event is a joint presentation of the Hill Country, Lone Star and Maverick Regions, with the support of the Houston Chapter BMW-CCA. Membership in PCA or BMW-CCA is not necessary. Go to Club Registration to sign up.
10/1/2023 – Sunday – Let’s Get Together at Rudy’s Country Store, 7709 RR 620 North, Austin. This is a great opportunity to chat with your fellow Porsche enthusiasts, while showing off your own Porsche beauty! Swing by at your leisure – no reservation needed anytime 9:00 am – 11:00 am.
10/3/2023 – Tuesday – Sippin’ in Drippin’ the HCR Meet-Up in The Hill Country – just drop in between 6:30 and 8:30 PM, no reservation needed for this informal opportunity to Meet-Up with your fellow Porsche enthusiasts. It’s a no host event but please contact Mike Seningen mike.seningen@hcrpca.org with any questions. Please park your Porsche in the sectioned off pavement of the brewery.

10/7/2023 – Saturday – Porsches and Coffee at Werks, 201 FM 1237 Troy TX 76579 hosts Cars and Coffee from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. www.werks11.com. This is a popular Saturday opportunity to meet HCR members and other Porsche owners for informal conversation.
10/8/2023 – Sunday – Get Together Doin’ Coffee and Donuts in Drippin’ – 9:00 am – 11:00 am. We have settled on nicely to our new location, Le Muse Coffee Bar, 505 Wynnpage Drive, Dripping Springs (in Caliterra). Contact Crystal Zarpas crystal@hcrpca.org with any questions.

10/14/2023 – Saturday – Registration is now open for the 3rd annual Porsche vs. Ferrari shootout! This highly anticipated event takes places this year on October 14, 2023 at Moorespeed, 7910 Burleson Road, Building #2 in Austin. This year will now have a Race Car invitation class in addition to the head to head competition with the Ferrari Club.
Judged registration is $75. The best cars in each division will receive an award trophy for 1st and 2nd place. The Judges will also award one Best in Show and all Judged cars will be eligible for gift certificates from our vendors and various supporters. If you would like to register your car into the Concours judging, go to Club Registration using this link. No need to register if you just want to look at these amazing cars!

10/18/2023 – Wednesday – The October Sips ‘n Sticks will be very special, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the home of Charlie and Jane Ann Sparks in Georgetown. This event will be structured a bit different than our usual Sips ‘n Sticks…it’s a “Stock The Whisky Room” event! Here’s how it will work:
- There’s a limit of 20 participants. Registration is required at Club Registration.
- Instead of the usual $50 per person fee, each attendee is requested to bring a ~$50 bottle of single malt whisky. We will be outdoors, in the terrific Casa Sparks backyard with three different seating areas are available.
- As a group, we will select 3 of the bottles brought in by attendees for the tasting event and Charlie will select a bottle from his Whisky Room collection. Those wishing to pair a cigar will be invited to select their stogies from any of Charlie’s humidors. Ladies are always invited to join in. Plenty of snacks will be available, as well as other non-alcoholic beverages.

10/21/2023 – Saturday – Fall Tour with a Twist! Date: Saturday, Oct 2, driver’s meeting time at 8:00 AM, departure 8:30 AM. Starting Location: 4700 E. Palm Valley Blvd in Round Rock (behind Murphy’s in Walmart parking lot.) We will take about a 2-hour drive out to the Dime Box Distillery in Giddings! HCR member, Brian Evans, is a co-owner of the distillery and wants to show our members some love. Please note this tour is limited to 45 vehicles. We will have a waitlist beyond 45 vehicles, should there be any cancellations.
