This week is Parade, the week-long celebration of all things Porsche. It's a huge national event put on by Porsche Club of America. Parade this year is in the Poconos, in Pennsylvania, at the Kalahari Resort. My wife & I were registered for Parade again this year, but weren't able to attend due to personal conflicts.
Tonight, the PCA National Awards banquet was held. I'm very pleased, no, ECSTATIC, to make this announcement to HCR members:
2021 Region of the Year: Hill Country Region!!!!
But that's not all.
2021 Sholar Award: Caren Cooper (Past President for HCR and Immediate Past President of PCA). The Sholar Award is PCA's highest honor!
2021 Zone Rep Award: Lynn Friedman (dual HCR/Lone Star member and national Porsche Platz Chair)
2021 Enthusiast of the Year: Carey Spreen (former HCR member)
So, everyone sing with me:
The Stars at Night,
Are Big and Bright,
{clap, clap, clap, clap}
Deep in the Heart of Texas!!
Congrats to all the winners tonight.
I could repeat my recent column in Horizons on "Gratitude", but y'all already know how grateful I am for the fantastic team of volunteer professionals in HCR. We all made this national award possible.
Thanks everyone,
Charlie
